About HYWT Classes and How They Came to Be

Kathleen loves to knit and crochet as a time of progressive relaxation.  Along with her other sisters, Karen, Mary Beth and Patricia, they learned the fine art of knitting and crocheting at an early age.

HYWT began in late 2005, when Kathleen and her best friend, Carol B started the small home-based business.  They provided workshops to over 30 public libraries situated in the Northern Illinois area.  Hundreds of children, teens and adults were taught this fine art of needlework by these two knitaholics.  There were times, Kathleen and Carol were asked if they had a shop where they could stop by and buy more yarn and sign up for more classes.

When Carol's husband was offered a job far away from the quaint southwest suburbs of Illinois, they thought of  stopping the business, but...libraries kept calling and asking for more classes.

So... Kathleen decided to keep the classes going as well as open a Studio in her home where she sells yarns and accessories as well as having a Monday Knitting Group

Kathleen is never seen without her knitting needles in tow and is always working on several projects at one time.  She loves knitting for charity as well as creating socks, sweaters, and dresses.  She recently had one of her sock patterns published by Conjoined Creations featuring Flat Feet yarn.

Kathleen continues to teach classes in many of the public libraries in the Northern Illinois area.
